At the Butterfly House: The Fascinating Life of a Monarch Butterfly

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History opens it’s Brewster Butterfly House for the season on June 1st. The flower filled exhibit is both peaceful and captivating. Until early September, visitors can witness these incredible insects at each stage of their lives. Spectators will see eggs, newborn caterpillars, chrysalises, and both Monarch and Painted Lady butterflies. The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History's Butterfly House is open for the summer! The exhibit fits nine people in at a time to explore and learn about these fabulous insects. Admission into the butterflies is included with the Museum.

Kaitrin Acuna grew up in Connecticut and moved to Cape Cod after finishing college. She studied at the University of Connecticut and University College Dublin to obtain a BFA in Photography.

Over the past four years, she has received twelve artist grants to pursue a variety of photographic series around New England and Europe, and has exhibited in shows at the William Benton Museum of Art, the Ely Slade House Museum, as well as several local galleries.

Outside of the photographic world, Kaitrin can be found painting colorful art cars, trying new foods, and planning to travel wherever she can get to.
