The Red Raiders (7-1) wasted little time attacking the usually tough Notre Dame Academy girls Wednesday afternoon, and left their home court in Hyannis with a 5-0 win. Notre Dame did not necessarily make it an easy victory, however.

Katie Tynan took the win at number one singles, 6-3, 6-1, over Notre Dame’s Maggie DiPesa and Lauren Persson followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win over senior Megan Faherty.

Emma Doe took the number three singles match with a 6-4, 6-1 win over senior Shannon Benoit and then things heated up in doubles play.

Taya Berler and Michaela Cornwall, entertained perhaps their toughest opponents of the season to date, narrowly defeating Makannu Sarjie and Paige DiNatalie, 6-4, 6-4. Barnstable’s Angelique Gray and Caroline Young faced no less a challenge but prevailed nevertheless with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Ava Dooley and Caroline Adams.
