BUZZARDS BAY — After reaching the semifinals of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament in each of the past two seasons, the Massachusetts Maritime men’s soccer team is once again expected to be in the hunt for a league title in the eyes of the conference coaches.
Head Coach Greg Perry’s Buccaneers are picked second in the 2015 MASCAC pre-season coaches’ poll that was released by the league office on Monday morning, as the Buccaneers garnered three first place votes (the most of any member institution) for a total of 39 points. Defending regular season champion Bridgewater State topped the voting with 43 points, while MCLA (31), defending tournament champion Fitchburg State (30) and Framingham State (29) rounded out the top five.
After earning its second straight berth in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference semifinals last fall, the Massachusetts Maritime men’s soccer team is looking to continue its run at both a league crown and NCAA tournament berth in veteran Head Coach Greg Perry’s 23rd season in 2015. The Buccaneers are preparing for another rigorous 17-match slate that features competition against some of the top squads in the region.
