BOSTON – Thirty-five of Cape Cod’s finest young musicians were on display on Beacon Hill this week.

The Cape Youth Orchestra performed at the State House rotunda on Tuesday before a crowd of state officials and visitors.

The orchestra played a number of pieces, including the conclusion of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony and some holiday favorites.

The group was invited by Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf.

“My greatest regret is putting down the violin,” Wolf told the students. Make the pledge that you will continue. Your music lights up the world.”

“I am incredibly proud of our youth orchestra students,” said Cape Conservatory Managing Director Stephanie Weaver. “They have come so far artistically and today was the culmination of those efforts. Senator Wolf’s message, the venue and the audience response were so inspiring. The students made a lifelong memory.”
