Woods Hole Museum Celebrates Oyster Farming

KA_Woods Hole_Historical Museum_062316_035WOODS HOLE – The Woods Hole Historical Museum is holding an Oyster Talk and Tasting on Friday evening.

Local oyster farmers Pete Chase and Eric Matzen will explain how oysters are grown and give an update on this year’s conditions.

Chase established his oyster growing operation in Gannett Cove and was the first to go through new regulations.

Chase and Matzen are part of a co-operative of growers known as Sippewissett Oysters which are sold through the Coonamessett Farm.

The fifth annual talk will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members.
