Vanderhoef to Step Down as Eastham Town Administrator in 2017

KA_Eastham_Town Hall_Winter_121415 (1)EASTHAM – After 24 years on the job, Eastham’s Town Administrator will step down from her position next year.

Sheila Vanderhoef is currently the longest-running town administrator on the Cape.

“It’s time to hang it up,” said Vanderhoef. “I think in the time that I’ve been here, I’ve been able to put some systems in place. We’ve got a good, strong employee core, we’ve got lots of great programs that are underway.”

Vanderhoef announced her resignation early in an attempt to give the town enough time to find her replacement.

Looking back on over two decades of work, Vanderhoef said that she is proud of the work that she, and the town have done.

“We’ve been able to move a town that had a large amount of debt to a town that has relatively manageable debt, a triple-A bond rating and we’ve been able to still accomplish the things we need to accomplish,” said Vanderhoef.

Vanderhoef added that she plans to read, relax and continuing volunteering after she leaves her position.
