YARMOUTH – Selectmen in Yarmouth will hold a hearing Tuesday night on the status of Anthony’s Cummaquid Inn, which has been closed down since 2015 due to numerous building, health, and fire code issues.
The restaurant has been plagued by inspection violations going back to 2012. Officials have found water damage, sub-standard safety equipment, and missing parts of ceilings and floors over the last four years.
A recent inspection found a number of improvements have been made at the building on Route 6A, including the replacement of rotted framing, beams, and flooring, and the installation of new ceilings, stairs, and doors.
The owners of the business have spent more than $200,000 on the renovations.
The Board will consider whether the establishment should be issued a liquor license this year after it was not awarded a license last year.
Tuesday’s hearing begins at 6 p.m. at Yarmouth Town Hall.
