Third Suspect Arraigned In Rest Area Killing

Christine Ferreira, 28, of Hyannis was killed at the Route 6 eastbound rest stop between Exits 6 and 7 in September of 2015.

BARNSTABLE – The third suspect in the murder of Christine Ferreira was arraigned Wednesday.

Tyrone Gomes, 30 of Hyannis, is charged with first degree murder and was held without bail.

Gomes, Denzel Chisholm, and Shannelle Chisholm are accused of luring Ferreira to a rest area on Route 6 and then killing her.

Denzel and Shannelle Chisholm were arraigned Tuesday afternoon after their arrests Tuesday morning. The two are brother and sister.

Prosecutors believe Denzel Chisholm orchestrated Ferreira’s murder in retaliation for her testimony against a member of the Nauti-Block street gang in 2011, a drug trafficking organization officials say Chisholm ran.
