PLYMOUTH – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in Plymouth on Thursday as local and state officials celebrated the completion of the T Wharf project.
The reconstruction of the wharf on the Harbor cost $3.25 million, with $2 million coming from a state MassWorks grant. Officials say the project will support the 200 to 300 jobs generated by Plymouth Harbor.
“Plymouth continues to succeed after 400 years because of the town’s commitment to reinvention and revitalization of their assets,” said Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, who was on hand for the ribbon cutting.
Ground was also broken at Cordage Park, which is slated to undergo a full re-development.
Plans call for converting the old 57-acre site into a mixed-use space, including 675 units of housing, 30,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space, and a 300-slip marina.
The state has awarded $2 million for that project.
