PLYMOUTH – The great white shark presence in local waters continues as seals were spotted with signs of bites Tuesday.
Division of Marine Fisheries shark program researchers photographed the wounded seals off Manomet Point in Plymouth.
Researchers will analyze detection data gathered from a receiver buoy removed from the water Tuesday.
More than 20 sharks were tagged off Cape waters this year by state shark expert Dr. Gregory Skomal and the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
Researchers tagged 24 white sharks in 2015 and are in the third year of a five-year white shark population study.
