HYANNIS – Professional boxing returns to Cape Cod for the second time this year at Barnstable High School.

Boston Boxing Promotions is presenting the event tomorrow, after a successful try over the summer on the Cape.

Over 800 spectators attended that event which featured five professional boxing matches and featured two knock-outs.

“What makes us so successful in my opinion is that we have local fighters in competitive fights against solid opposition,” said Boston Boxing Promotions co-owner Peter Cymbor.

Barnstable High School graduate Jesse Barboza will defend his Northeast Heavyweight title in tomorrow’s main event.

“The energy was electric when I fought in Hyannis for the first time over the summer,” said Barboza. “I can’t wait to see how it’ll be on Thanksgiving weekend when everyone’s home for the holiday.”

The event is presented by Boston Boxing Promotions and will feature a full undercard of supporting bouts.

Harwich light heavyweight Paul Gonsalves will compete in a separate bout after coming off a first round technical knockout in August.

“We give the fans what they want and they see people that they have some association with and they can relate to, I just think that it’s a really good community feel when we come to Cape Cod and we want to come back in 2016 as well,” said Cymbor.

Tickets are $40 for general admission and $60 for ringside and are available at capecodboxing.com and at the door.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the matches begin at 7 p.m.
