PROVINCETOWN – The Provincetown Art Association and Museum will celebrate the opening of two exhibitions Friday with a potluck event.

The Members’ Open exhibit displays the work of varied media and approach of the contemporary artist-members of the art association.

Several of the artists live on Cape Cod either full-time or part of the year.

The event will also celebrate the opening of Art on the Edge and the Reaching Forward Mentor Program, which is an exhibit featuring the work of local youth artists taught by other artists.

Art on the Edge is a free studio program taught by professional artists to support the development of young artists who live on the Outer Cape.

The Reaching Forward Student Mentor Program interlocks with Art on the Edge as student mentors learn from contemporary artists, develop leadership skills, deepen their own art practices and serve as role models for younger peers in a studio classroom setting.

Guests attending the opening are asked to bring a dish to share for the potluck or a $7 donation.

The event is March 10 at 6 p.m.

The Members’ Open exhibit runs through April 30 and the Art on the Edge and the Reaching Forward Mentor Program exhibit will be on display through April 2.
