Plymouth Teacher Wins Milken Educator Award and $25,000

PLYMOUTH – English and Language Arts teacher Michelle Terry of Plymouth has won the Milken Educator Award which also includes a $25,000 prize.

The Plymouth North High School teacher was very surprised to win the award and showed her shock as she approached the podium to accept the honor.

Terry becomes the first-ever recipient of the award in the Plymouth Public Schools system.

The award is given by the Milken Family Foundation, which gives honors to up to 75 teachers across the country per year as part of the Foundation’s journey to 3,000 Milken Educators.

By the end of this year the Foundation will have given over $75 million in individual financial prizes spanning the length of the initiative.
