WEST BARNSTABLE – It is now even more affordable to obtain a college education in Massachusetts thanks to a program called Commonwealth Commitment.
Details of the program will be discussed at Cape Cod Community College on Wednesday November 15th at 5:30. Topics will include the large savings and enrollment opportunities.
Most majors are included and the transfer options are many. The savings can be well over $5,000.
College spokesman Michael Gross said a big factor in the savings is “your tuition is frozen at the very same day you walk into the community college and enroll, and it stays the same all the way through,” he said.
Now in the second year, the program’s goal is to help students keep focused on college completion, while providing an outstanding education at the state’s 29 educational institutions.
Upon entering the program, all tuition and mandatory fees are frozen at the community college’s entry level — for all four-years of the “ComCom” program.
When the student transfers, they will pay the same tuition and fees they paid the day they entered the program.
Students will also receive additional rebates.
