ORLEANS – Nauset Public Beach in Orleans was temporarily closed this afternoon after a great white shark sighting.
According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app, the shark was spotted around 3 p.m. about 100 yards from shore at Trail 3 on Nauset Beach South. The shark was traveling north.
The beach was closed to swimming for an hour, pending any further sightings.
