HYANNIS – The Massachusetts Health Connector visited Hyannis on Tuesday, one week before the start of open enrollment.
The event was held at The Daily Paper Restaurant and drew a number of residents.
Officials with the health connector are conducting a state-wide “Hidden Gems” tour to discuss the benefits of getting health insurance through the connector.
“It’s an opportunity for people who get their health insurance through the health connector to look at their options, to shop, to look at their premiums, to look at their doctors, their providers and take the opportunity to make sure that they’re in the plan that’s right for them and take advantage of the different tools available for them to see what’s available,” said Director of Policy Outreach Audrey Gasteier.
Open Enrollment starts November 1 and current health connector members can also shop for new coverage for 2017.
The Hidden Gems tour included stops at over 15 locations through the Commonwealth, giving residents a chance to sign up for health insurance for 2017.
“This is the time to stop, look at your options, compare things, enroll if you don’t have health insurance coverage, make sure you’re looking at all your options, there’s something for everybody,” said Gasteier.
