BARNSTABLE – Grammy-nominated singer Marilyn Maye will be performing alongside Billy Stritch on the piano at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
Beginning her career at the age of nine on radio station WIBW in Topeka, Kansas, 91-year-old Maye has performed in venues such as the Metropolitan Room, Birdland, Town Hall, 92nd Street Y, and the Lincoln Center in New York alongside other locations around the country.
Maye is known best for her cabaret, but also includes swing and jazz waltz in her repertoire.
Her rendition of “Too Late Now” has been included in the Smithsonian album of the 110 Best American Compositions of the Twentieth Century.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27 at 7:30 pm.
Tickets are $60, $40 for balcony seating. There is a $5 discount for members and a 2$ discount for veterans and seniors.
