Horace Mann Charter School to Host Reading Event

HYANNIS – The Barnstable Community Horace Mann Charter Public School in Hyannis is one of four schools across the country to win the “Show Your Love for Literacy” sweepstakes.

As winners of the sweepstakes, the school will hold a free Read and Rise Family Literacy Event Tuesday, March 14 at 6 p.m.

Students will participate in read-aloud activities during the event and receive reading certificates to purchase a book of their choice at the Scholastic Book Fair.

Parents and families will also be able to attend a literacy workshop where they will learn activities they can do with their children at home to support literacy development.

Horace Mann Charter school was one of 225 school eligible to enter the sweepstakes hosted by BJ’s Wholesale Clubs’ “Adopt-a-School” program in collaboration with Kellogg’s and Scholastic Book Fairs.
