Homeless Memorial Scheduled in Hyannis

HYANNIS – A memorial will be held Friday night in honor of homeless people who have died over the past year.

It is an annual tradition by the National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council.

The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. at the Federated Church on Main Street, Hyannis. The event coincides with the longest night of the year.

Sponsors include the Cape Cod Council of Churches, Federated Church, Duffy Health Center , the Housing Assistance Corporation, Community of Jesus Team M25 and the Barnstable Police Department.

The event is free and open to the public.
