Great White Shark Sighting Closes Head of the Meadow Beach

TRURO – A great white shark sighting closed Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro late this morning.

According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app, the shark was reportedly breeching around 10:30 a.m.

The beach was closed to swimming for an hour.

There was also a public report of a seal predation in the waters off Coast Guard Road in North Truro just south of the town beach and Head of the Meadow Beach.

Witnesses said a shark took a seal about 70 feet offshore and they saw the seal, a fin and then an eruption of blood.
