BUZZARDS BAY – Governor Charlie Baker called on graduates to follow their dreams and not be afraid to fail at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy commencement ceremony over the weekend.
Baker served as this year’s commencement speaker and received an honorary degree from the academy.
308 cadets received their Bachelor’s degrees and 51 received their Master’s.
The academy also issued honorary degrees to long-time Board of Trustees member Paul Kelly and Manson Brown, a retired Coast Guard Vice Admiral and and assistant secretary of commerce in the Obama administration.
