WEST BARNSTABLE – Governor Charlie Baker was on Cape yesterday to celebrate the graduation of approximately 60 students from Cape Cod Community College’s Project Forward Program.
The governor delivered the keynote remarks at the ceremony which was held at the college’s Tilden Arts Center. He urged the graduates to take risks and not to be afraid of failure touching on his own life and the 14 jobs he held between graduating college and reaching the corner office.
“The greatest danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark.” began Baker, paraphrasing the artist Michelangelo.
“There are a lot of clichés out there that talk about how failure is always a part of success, there are always speedbumps along the road, and anybody who does anything that matters is sure to fail at some point along the way because is often part ultimately of success.”
Project Forward is a nationally recognized school-to-work program which provides students with learning differences the opportunity to gain and maintain vocational skills, keys to independent living, and the path to social success.
