WEST FALMOUTH – A 67-year-old man swimming in West Falmouth went missing this morning and was found by Falmouth police a short time later.
Just after 9 a.m., two swimmers reported a third missing off Chapoquoit Beach.
Falmouth fire and rescue crews, Falmouth Marine & Environmental Services and the U.S. Coast Guard joined police in seraching for the missing swimmer.
A police officer found the man wearing a wet suit on a street on Chapoquoit Island just before 9:30 a.m.
According to police, the man said he started to experience muscle cramps while swimming and swam to shore.
Paramedics evaluated the swimmer and he declined any further treatment.
