SOUTH YARMOUTH – Community Connections held its 12th annual Walkathon over the weekend in Fairhaven to support the developmentally disabled and is still accepting donations for the event.
The nonprofit serves people with disabilities across Southeastern Mass and Cape Cod and funding will benefit programs in Fairhaven, Fall River, Mashpee, Plymouth, South Yarmouth and Wareham.
The fundraising deadline is October 31. To make a donation, visit ccimass.org/walk.
“The Walkathon is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said David Botting, the president and CEO of Community Connections Inc.
“All funds raised from this event help provide specialized equipment, unique therapies and additional activities such as art supplies, community-based outings and music therapy sessions for the people we serve.”
