NANTUCKET – A U.S. Coast Guard Crew from Air Station Cape Cod medically evacuated an elderly man from a cruise ship yesterday off the coast of Nantucket.
The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew hoisted the 78-year-old victim, who had reportedly suffered a stroke, off the cruise vessel Norwegian Escape around 7:30 p.m.
The victim and a nurse from the ship were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
He was reportedly in stable condition at the time of the transfer.
