SANDWICH – The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation has announced two very special guest speakers in February.
The Cape Cod Foundation says that Boston Celtics co-owner and entrepreneur Wyc Grousbeck will speak in Sandwich on February 4 at 6:30 p.m., at the historic Sandwich Glass Museum. Editor of Forbes Magazine and Chief Content Officer of Forbes Media Randall Lane will interview Grousbeck.
Grousbeck and Lane will cover a wide range of topics, including “All Things Celtics.” Those attending will have the chance to meet and question the two leaders and tour The Sandwich Glass Museum.
One of the most popular NBA team owners, Wycliffe “Wyc” Grousbeck is the Managing Partner, CEO and Governor of the Celtics. He was a founding partner of Boston Basketball Partners, LLC, that bought the Celtics for $360 million in 2002. Today the Celtics team is valued at over $2 billion.
Born in Worcester, Grousbeck earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton, a law degree from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Stanford. At Princeton, he rowed on the undefeated lightweight crew team that won the national championship. His business experience includes years at venture capital firms, both in California and Massachusetts.
Both Grousbeck and Lane have been involved in philanthropy. Grousbeck serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Eye and Ear; he is also involved with other charities.
Lane pioneered the Forbes 400 Summit on Philanthropy and is a global board member of Global Citizen. He is also the author of You Only Have to Be Right Once: The Unprecedented Rise of the Instant Tech Billionaires.
All funds raised at this event will benefit The Fund for Sandwich, which supports the vitality of those who live in the town.
