Cape Cod Healthcare to Parnter with Steward Health Care for New MassHealth Program

HYANNIS – Starting in the spring, Cape Cod Healthcare is teaming with Steward Health Care to improve care and outcomes for patients on MassHealth.

Hundreds of physicians in the Cape Cod area will participate in the new Steward Health Choice plan beginning March 1.

The plan is part of the state’s restructuring of how health care is delivered to MassHealth patients.

“We are pleased to partner with Steward to better serve our MassHealth population,” said Christian Brown, the senior vice president of Managed Care for Cape Cod Healthcare. “Patients on Cape Cod can look forward to better care coordination and improved health with this creative and innovative model.”

The new Accountable Care Organization reforms for MassHealth are meant to improve quality and member experiences and integrate the full spectrum of care including medical care, behavioral health and long-term services and supports.
