CATAUMET – The Buzzards Bay Coalition is celebrating the organization’s past year of accomplishments during its 29th annual meeting on Thursday.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Kingman Yacht Center in Cataumet.
The Coalition will present its 2017 Buzzards Bay Guardian Awards and Volunteer of the Year award.
The recipients of the award include David Pinkham of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and philanthropists Ellen and Duncan McFarland.
The Coalition will also honor Wareham resident and retired teacher Gayle Whittle as Volunteer of the Year for her service educating and engaging the people of all ages in the Coalition’s mission.
The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, restoration and sustainable use and enjoyment of Buzzards Bay and its watershed.
