Canal Clean-Up, Sat, 9/28, 9 AM, Sandwich Recreation Area
Join U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Rangers to clean up the south side (Cape side) of the Cape Cod Canal. They’ll supply bags, gloves and grabbers. Meet at the Sandwich Recreation Area. 99 Freezer Road in Sandwich. Search for “Canal Clean Up” on Facebook for updates on the event. 13th Pumpkin Patch, Sat, 9/28, 9 AM, West Yarmouth Congregational Church
The first of two full trailer trucks of pumpkins and gourds will arrive at West Yarmouth Congregational Church Saturday to kick off the largest Halloween nonprofit pumpkin sale in the state. The patch will be open daily through Wednesday, October 31st. Sale hours will be 9 am to dusk except Sunday hours beginning at 11:30 after worship. Look for other Fall-themed items for sale, including homemade apple pies on 10/5 & 10/14.
Positively Different Soccer Clinic, Sun, 9/29, 10 AM, Barnstable High School
This free skills clinic for kids aged 6-14 hosted by The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod will once again be led by Olympic Gold Medalist Kristine Lilly, along with players from the Barnstable High School Varsity Soccer Team. In addition to picking up new skills, participants will enjoy a Q&A with the players, photo opportunities, and the chance to get their gear autographed. Cape & Islands Police K9 Relief Fund 11th Annual Motorcycle Run – Sat, 9/28 AM, 9-11 AM
Funds raised will help to cover the veterinary costs of retired K-9’s from local police departments. The ride will make its way from Patriot Square in Dennis to McMillan Wharf in Ptown – register at capecodpolicek9.org.
Touch-A-Truck, Sat, 9/28, 11 AM, Harwich Community Center
Children of all ages will love the chance to see their favorite trucks up close! Kids are invited to climb up on and sit in the driver’s seat of some of their favorite trucks while they learn about the people who help protect and maintain our community. This event is FREE and will be held in the Community Center parking lot, rain or shine.
Family Fun Day, Sat, 9/28, 11 AM, Cape Abilities Farm
