Welcome to Your Cape Cod Brewery Guide!
Visiting a Cape Cod Brewery is a must whether you are living on the Cape and Islands or just here on vacation.
While beer is available at liquor stores throughout the region, the Cape & Islands also are home to a number of fine local breweries, each with their own story.
Cape Cod Beer
A beer and ale staple in the region, Cape Cod Beer uses their own original recipes. Cape Cod Beer’s philosophy is to brew the best beer possible on Cape for the people who love the Cape and distributes its beer and ales within a 50 mile radius of the brewery, from Plymouth to Provincetown. With a maximum annual capacity of 13,000 barrels housed in their brew house, Cape Cod Beer brews about 16 times a week during the busy season.
If you’re curious how this local beer and ale is brewed, Cape Cod Beer hosts tours of the brewery once a day at 11 a.m. Monday – Saturday. Here is a video of what you can expect on a tour!

Offshore Ale Company in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard offers hand crafted beers and ales and various seasonal brews. Since 2009, Offshore Ale Company has partnered with the Coast Guard Foundation with the “Pints for Purpose” program in which a percentage of its sales for one million pints will go toward funding Coast Guard Foundation’s Enlisted Education Grants initiative, a grants program aimed at achieving higher education. Cisco Brewers
Nantucket is home to Cisco Brewers, a brewery, winery, Nantucket Vineyards, and distillery, Triple Eight.
Cisco Brewers features numerous island-themed brews like the Whale’s Tale Pale Ale, an English style pale ale that is named in honor of Nantucket’s rich whaling history, the Grey Lady, which is named for the fog that often encompasses the island and Sankaty Light Lager, named after the lighthouse on the bluff on the southeastern side of the island.

Barnstable Brewing
Barnstable Brewing is a relative newcomer to the Cape. They opened their doors on West Main in Hyannis at the end of September 2017 to an outpouring of visitors. Cape Codders can’t get enough of craft beer and the new kid on the block seems to be a needed addition to the group. Early reviews site the Russian Imperial and Bourbon Barrel Porter as early standouts.
Devil’s Purse Brewing Company
Devil’s Purse Brewing Company is a Cape Cod Brewery located in South Dennis. They pride themselves on making handcrafted beers using only the best ingredients. Friends Matt Belson and Mike Segerson started home brewing with a simple kit in 2010. After realizing how much they loved creating beer they decided to see if they could open a brewery. Several years of consulting and obtaining permits later and Devil’s Purse opened in 2015. Tastings are available Tuesday – Saturday 12pm – 6pm.
Hog Island Brewery
Hog Island Brewery touts itself as the outermost brewery on Cape Cod. The brewery sits on Little Pleasant Bay in Orleans overlooking Nauset Beach. Hog Island Brewery is available for tastings but hours vary by season. Check their website for tasting hours and upcoming tours.
