Where should we go for lunch? There is no limit to the restaurant choices in the Mid-Cape area until you throw in few limiting factors. My limiting factors are usually location, budget and I prefer to skip the fryolators. Were you surprised to see Cape Cod Creamery as my pick?
With the Summer season over, many of the ice cream shops on the Cape lock their doors until the spring. Cape Cod Creamery is keeping their Hyannis location open and offering a lunch menu.
They have a variety of panini sandwiches and soups along with a list of options for the kids. You can even choose a soup & sandwich combination for a reasonable price.
I will admit, I found it distracting to order a healthy sandwich while standing over the strategically positioned ice cream candy toppings at the counter. Of course this planted dessert in my mind right away. I picked the 1/2 North Side Panini (Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil Pesto, Baby Kale with a Balsamic Glaze) and I was thrilled to see they had Captain Parker’s Clam Chowder on the menu! With a small soda, my lunch came in under $10.00! Although the soup could have been served a bit warmer, all in all, it was a filling lunch.
Cape Cod Creamery has done a great job reflecting the bright yellow and blue colors of their original shop in Yarmouth. The Hyannis location is cheery and very clean with a glass case willed with a rainbow assortment of ice cream flavors. After lunch, I couldn’t help myself and brought home a quart of “Vineyard Vanilla” for late night snaking!
Cape Cod Creamery is located in the Christmas Tree Plaza in Hyannis (between Rte 28 and Rte 132).
