When looking for a place to up a pizza on the Cape there are a TON of choices. No matter where you go on the Cape you are bound to stumble upon a local business that makes a delicious pizza. With many people being extremely picky about their pizza it is hard to pick a clear winner, but these ten pizza shops are definitely ones that you need to check out while on the Cape!
1. Pizza Barbone – Hyannis
Pizza Barbone began making their Neapolitan wood fired pizzas by trekking their mobile oven around Cape Cod and the Boston area since the Spring of 2010. After finding much success at local farmer’s markets, public events and customer’s private parties all over Massachusetts, they set down roots at a brick and mortar location at 390 Main St. in Hyannis. There they bake their pizza in a beautifully handcrafted Stefano Ferrara oven, which was built from scratch by third generation oven-makers out of rock and ash from Mt. Vesuvius and covered in hand painted glass tiles before being shipped from Naples, Italy. The oven was the first of its kind in Massachusetts and brings delicious pizza to the people and visitors of Cape Cod.
2. Rock Harbor Grill – Orleans
The Rock Harbor Grill is all about great food prepared with fresh, quality ingredients with a passion for flavor and style! Owner Chuck Konner and Head Chef Stuart Hirsch both bring a wealth of fine restaurant experience to this unique Lower Cape establishment. Their savory wood fired pizzas melt in your mouth. Go for a traditional pizza or try some of their specialty pizzas like Stark Crimson Pear or Mediterranean. Order in advance and stop by to pick up a pizza if you can’t stick around. Rock Harbor Grill is located at 18 Old Colony Way in Orleans.
3. Spiritus Pizza – Provincetown
Scrumptious pizza with friendly and efficient service. Spiritus also serves ice cream and is a great place to go for a bite to eat while in Provincetown. Since 1971, their thin-crust pies keep people coming back for more. When you are in Provincetown, you definitely need to stop by and have a taste of Spiritus!
4. Crisp Flatbread Inc. – Osterville
Crisp Flatbread Inc serves fresh wood-fired pizza and homemade pastas prepared with seasonal, local ingredients. They support local farmers and are passionate about using hormone and nitrate-free meats and organic vegetables whenever possible. All of their pastas, sauces and CRISP flatbread dough are made from scratch with love. 5. Wicked Restaurant & Wine Bar – Mashpee
Locally owned, the Wicked Restaurant offers hand crafted artisan pizzas, salads, seafood and burgers. Wicked uses only organic ingredients for its fire kissed pizzas and serves lunch and dinner and provides a gluten-free menu. Their Wicked Fire Kissed Pizzas (cooked in open flame, hearth ovens) combine old world Neapolitan pizza-making techniques with fresh organic ingredients to produce exciting modern creations. Wicked offers 20 wines by the glass along with 12 micro brews. Wicked is located at 680 Falmouth Rd. in Mashpee.
6. Palio Pizzeria – Hyannis
Palio Pizzeria serves thin-crust pizza using homemade Neapolitan style dough and has a number of specialty pizzas and southern Italian style meals including sandwiches and sweet treats. You can craft your own pizza or get a brick oven grinder or some pasta.
7. Takis Pizza – West Yarmouth
Since 1983 Takis has been serving the delicious pizza, subs, and dinners to the Yarmouth area. Takis Pizza’s delivery range includes all of South Yarmouth and most of Yarmouthport. Make sure to try their House Special Pizza or their Chicken Cordon Bleu Specialty calzone!
8. The Red Barn Pizza – Eastham
Stop by The Red Barn at 4180 Route 6 in Eastham for great pizza, burgers, subs and more! After you’ve made your choice on what toppings you want from their extensive list, make sure to save room for some tasty ice cream! You can eat indoors or enjoy dining outdoors when the weather is warm. Beer and wine are also served and you can catch the game on their HD TV.
9. Pizza Wave – Marstons Mills
The Pizza Wave has been a part of the community for over a decade. With consistently good service, Pizza Wave makes sure to use the highest quality ingredients available and to give you the best value for the money. Their pizzas are made with extra virgin olive oil, which gives their pizza crust it’s distinct, savory and crispy taste. Check out Pizza Wave at 3864 Falmouth Rd. in Marstons Mills.
10. Zia Pizzeria & Cafe – Orleans
Everything at Zia’s, from their pizza dough to our hearty soups and freshly-baked treats, is made from scratch using high-quality ingredients. They’re known for their specialty pizzas and sandwiches. Try their homemade oatmeal bread and fresh salads, served in a warm atmosphere. They also serve beer, wine, cappuccino and espresso. Zia is located just up the street from Nauset Beach at 210 Main St. in Orleans. Call ahead and your sandwiches will be waiting as you head to the beach!
