Your dogs are invited to take part in the Cape’s biggest canine egg hunt, which will include 4,000 plastic eggs filled with doggie treats, along with dog toys and tennis balls. 4/22, 9AM, CHAMP Homes Earth Day Clean Up, CHAMP Homes in Hyannis – Champ Homes participants, staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, and community partners will host the Earth Day Clean-Up in cooperation with the Barnstable DPW. 4/23, 10AM, Family Fun Day, Cape Cod Museum of Art – Art week coincides this year with April Vacation – so bring the kids to discover the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Enjoy a puppet show, an “I Spy” Scavenger Hunt, coloring pages, The “Through Young Eyes”exhibition, which features the work of local young artists, and take a walk through the Sculpture Garden. 4/23, 1PM, New England Wildlife Show, Brewster Ladies Library – The NE Wildlife Center is visiting Brewster for April vacation – and they’re bringing along some of the most interesting creatures that live in our woods, fields, and ponds for the kids to meet. Kids will learn how they care for these animals in their wildlife hospital, some of the most common issues the animals face when interacting with humans and some of the ways we can better care for them in our daily lives. 4/23, 1PM, Touch A Truck, West Barnstable Community Building – The Whelden Memorial Library, along with the Town of Barnstable and the West Barnstable Fire Department, are teaming up for a vacation week touch a truck event. 4/24 – 4/27, Nantucket Daffodil Festival – Enjoy a festive Spring celebration recognized by the American Daffodil Society! 4/25 – 4/26, 10th Annual Ruck4HIT Weekend – This team-based relay is expected to double its field this year, starting at Cape Cod Fairgrounds in the early hours of April 25th and ending roughly 36 hours later back at Cape Cod Fairgrounds for an epic finish line party. Participants will ruck to Provincetown and climb the Pilgrim Monument together – then head back to Falmouth to celebrate what they accomplished together. Each athlete will cover 2-4 miles at a time with a 10- to 20-pound rucksack on his/her back, symbolizing the sacrifice our military and veterans make and have made in service to our country. 4/26, 10AM, Keep Barnstable Beautiful Spring Cleanup, 760 Osterville West Barnstable Rd, Marstons Mills – Keep Barnstable Beautiful (KBB) is excited to announce an upcoming Spring Earth Week Community Litter Cleanup, scheduled for Saturday April 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event will aim to foster community pride and environmental stewardship by addressing the litter that has accumulated over the winter months in the Town of Barnstable. Volunteers will be provided with all necessary supplies, including gloves, trash grabbers, bags, and safety vests. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.

This year’s recipient is Pleasant Bay Boating, a nonprofit that offers boating and marine education to residents and visitors, including those with physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities, under-served families and at-risk youth. 5/25, 11:30AM, Cape Cod Cares for the Troops, Cape Cod Mall (back lot) – Cape Cod Cares for the Troops will hold their 21st annual Troops in the Spotlight at the Cape Cod Mall (back lot) in Hyannis. This event will honor and support our deployed troops, our veterans, our wounded warriors and our Gold Star Heroes and their families. Cape Cod Cares for the Troops was started twenty-one years ago by then 12-year-old Dylan DeSilva. His vision was to send weekly care packages to our troops. 5/27 – 5/30, Gregorian Chant Retreat: Celebrating the Ascension of Christ, Church of the Transfiguration, Orleans – Join us for a three-day Gregorian Chant retreat (Tuesday dinner through Friday Breakfast). Be refreshed by the beauty of the Community of Jesus monastery in late spring, overlooking Cape Cod bay! This retreat will focus on the chants surrounding the celebration of the Ascension of Christ. Participants will join the members of the monastery singing the Liturgy of the Hours in celebration of the Feast.
