Yarmouth Police arrest six for heroin and assaulting officer

YARMOUTH – From Yarmouth Police: “Yarmouth Police report that on Wednesday at 4 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Sean Geary conducted a motor vehicle stop of a black Chevrolet Blazer on Autumn Way in South Yarmouth.

Anti-Crime Unit Officer Geary observed a small bag of heroin in the vehicle. Officer Geary further learned that a wanted person was currently inside a nearby home at 12 Amelia Way.

Yarmouth Police Officers went to the home and encountered Michael Geggatt and placed him under arrest.

Police Officers also observed Michael Santos in the process of using heroin with a syringe in his hand and a small bag of heroin next to him.

Seconds after opening the bedroom door, the male slammed the door on a Detective striking him. The male subject then jumped onto the bed in an attempt to get away.

A Yarmouth Police K9 Officer assisted the Detective and fellow Police Officers and the attack on the Detective was overcome. Unfortunately during the attack, the Detective was stuck with a used hypodermic needle and was later treated at Cape Cod Hospital for this infectious exposure.

Dafinee and the male party, identified as Euclides Matias of Boston, were placed in handcuffs.

A search of the room was conducted and heroin was located in the room.

During a search of Matias, 2 large bags of heroin fell out of Matias underwear onto the floor. The two bags weighed approximately 32 grams.
