Three charged with OUI in recent Wareham activity

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: On Thursday, May 30, at about 8:45 p.m. Wareham Police responded to Cumberland Farms on Depot Street for a report of a suspicious male. On arrival, Officer Nate Aronson observed the male in question standing next to a car in the parking lot. After a brief investigation Officer Aronson determined the male appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, had driven to the store, and shoplifted items. Edward F. Slaman Jr., 64, of Onset, was placed under arrest for shoplifting, subsequent offense, operating under the influence of alcohol, 9th offense, operating after suspension, and resisting arrest. During his arrest Mr. Slaman was belligerent, kicking the cruiser door, and yelling profanities at the officers during his booking. Officer Eric Machado assisted in the arrest.

Walter Nee

On Friday, May 31, at about 10:00 p.m., Officer Aronson arrested Walter Nee, 51, of Wareham, for operating under the influence 2nd offense and being an operator and refusing to identify self. The arrest occurred after officers determined that Mr. Nee had been operating a motorcycle on Cranberry Highway and was believed to be impaired.

At about 11:15 p.m. on Sunday night, Officers Aronson and Jennifer Braley responded to Cumberland Farms on Main Street for the report of a possible intoxicated operator in the area. When the officers arrived they encountered a female sitting in a car. After speaking with the woman for a few minutes she began to berate the officers by yelling profanities at them and flail her arms wildly. She was then placed under arrest however resisted the two officers. The female spat at both officers and was transported to the station where her outburst continued. At the station Officer Lorenzo Grosso and Sergeant Daniel Henderson processed her as she continued to be disruptive and uncooperative. After being placed in the female holding area she began to kick the cell door so hard that she damaged it to the point of requiring emergency repairs. Briana Tobin, 29, of Wareham is charged with, operating under the influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, 2 counts of assault and battery on a police officer, and vandalizing property.
