MARSTONS MILLS – One person was seriously injured in a crash in Marstons Mills around 4:30 p.m. when a Toyota Corolla collided with a Chevy Express work van on Falmouth Road (Route 28) by the lights in front of the Stop & Shop.
Rescuers found the female occupant of one of the vehicles on the ground at the scene with possibly life-threatening injuries. A MedFlight helicopter was requested to the Cape Cod Airfield on Race Lane in Marstons Mills. The victim was flown to Rhode Island Hospital trauma center.
The driver of the van was not injured.
Traffic on Route 28 headed toward Mashpee was stopped while Hyannis-bound traffic was heavily backed up. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash and whether a vehicle reported operating erratically just before the crash may have been involved.
