DENNIS – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced Route 6 between exits 9 and 10 in Dennis and Harwich will be temporarily closed on Thursday at 8 p.m. for all travelers except emergency vehicles.
It will reopen at 2:30 a.m., on Friday, June 2.
The temporary closure is necessary to repair the damaged/missing median delineators along Route 6.
NOTE: Emergency Vehicles will be permitted to use Route 6 as needed.

Thursday, June 1 – Route 6 closed between exits 9 and 10
Traffic traveling Eastbound on Route 6:
- Take Exit 9A ramp to Route 134 (East-West Dennis Road).
- Bear right onto Route 134 (East-West Dennis Road) and continue to Upper County Road.
- Turn left onto Upper County Road and continue to Great Western Road.
- Turn left onto Great Western Road and continue to Depot Street.
- Turn right onto Depot Street and continue to Main Street.
- Turn left onto Main Street and continue to Queen Anne Road.
- Bear right onto Queen Anne Road and continue to Route 124 (Pleasant Lake Avenue).
- Turn left on Route 124 (Pleasant Lake Avenue) to the ramps at the Route 6 interchange.
- Turn left onto the ramp to Route 6 EB.
Traffic traveling Westbound on Route 6:
- Take Exit 10 ramp to 124 (Pleasant Lake Avenue).
- Turn left onto Route 124 (Pleasant Lake Avenue) and continue to Queen Anne Road.
- Turn right onto Queen Anne Road and continue to Main Street.
- Bear right onto Main Street and continue to Depot Street.
- Turn left onto Depot Street and continue to Great Western Road.
- Turn right onto Great Western Road and continue to Upper County Road.
- Turn right onto Upper County Road and continue to Route 134 (East-West Dennis Road).
- Turn right to Route 134 (East-West Dennis Road) and continue to the ramps at the Route 6 interchange.
- Turn right onto the ramp to Route 6 WB.
