Dennis officer promoted to Sergeant; new officer sworn in

patsavosnicholasDENNIS – Chief Peter DiMatteo announced that Nicholas Patsavos was sworn in Tuesday as a Sergeant with the Dennis Police Department. Sergeant Patsavos began his career at the Dennis Police Department as a Special Police Officer in 1995. He became a full-time dispatcher in 1999 and was appointed as a patrolman in 2001. Sergeant Patsavos was formally one of two Community Service Unit officers, a Field Training Officer, and a bike patrol officer. Sgt Patsavos holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Sgt Patsavos has received many department commendations over the years including three Excellent Police Duty Awards, two Dennis PD Lifesaving Awards and the George Hannah Award for saving a drowning victim in 2005. Sgt Patsavos attended the 2-week basic Supervisor School at Roger Williams University this past September.

lambtonmarkChief DiMatteo also announced that Mark Lambton was sworn in on Monday as a patrolman following his graduation from the Randolph Police Academy last Friday. Following his appointment, Officer Lambton will begin a 12-week field training program with the department. Mr. Lambton is a life-long Dennis resident.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree and has been involved with town events for many years.  Mr. Lambton sponsored himself through the Reserve Academy and has been working for the Town of Dennis as a Reserve Police Officer since June of 2014 prior to entering the police academy.
