Cape Cod has more than 40 courses and as many as 30 are accessible to the public — everything from a historic Scottish links to a pair of championship Brian Silva-designed courses.
“It’s a place where golf is as unpretentious as the residents in their well worn boat shoes and sun-faded shorts,” says Golf Advisor.
So grab the clubs and check out our picks for the Top 5 Public Courses on the Cape.
Dennis Pines, East Dennis
One of two courses owned by the town of Dennis and at 7,000 yards, it's one of the longest on the Cape. Designed by Henry C. Mitchell, the Pines features narrow, tree-lined holes and fairways that follow the natural terrain. “Diabolically tight,” says GolfAdvisor.com. “Bring your 'A' target game for sure.” Hackers can take solace in the fact that the Pines has four sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels. Check dennisgolf.com for rates and tee times.
