SANDWICH – While police are still searching for the exact individuals who tore up part of Sandwich Hollows Golf Club while riding four-wheelers in December, the initial estimates for damages have doubled.
Originally it was suspected that around $30,000 in damages was caused, that number is now at $60,000.
Town Manager Bud Dunham said the warmer weather in December still brought golfers to the greens. But after the damages were found on December 13th, he said the course had to close the back nine holes.
“We really do feel like there was some business lost from that,” he said.
Dunham said he is still unsure as to how long the repairs will take.
