BOURNE — Named to the West Division all-star squad last weekend, Bourne Braves’ righty Gavin Pittore signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this week after not allowing an earned run in 17 innings and finishing his Cape Cod Baseball League summer stint with 17 strikeouts.
A junior at Wesleyan University, a Division three school, Pittore was one of three from the school to sign professional baseball contracts this summer. Pittore is a Boston native and had a 1-1 record for the Bourne Braves this summer before being named to the all-star game.
Here’s an interview of Pittore by Bourne Braves’ Troy Lynch and his Cape League experience and reaction to signing a pro contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League.
