HARWICH – Monday night at a meeting of the Harwich Board of Selectmen, members of the Harwich Police, Harwich Fire and Harwich Department of Public Works were recognized for their lifesaving efforts.
On June 10 at approximately 10 a.m., the dedicated team of Town of Harwich employees responded to a call for a person in cardiac arrest on the bike trail.
While the efforts of these folks played a part, a Good Samaritan, who happened to be a nurse, was the first person on the scene and began lifesaving CPR prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
The lifesaving actions of this heroine were recognized last night as she was presented a plaque by Harwich Police Patrol Officer Derek Dutra that honored her efforts that day.
Great work everyone!
