BOURNE – Both sides of the Bourne Bridge are now re-opened after a fuel tanker overturned in the middle of the rotary late last night.

Both northbound lanes heading off the Cape are open, with only one lane coming on the Cape open at this point.

The Bourne rotary is also re-opened.

The crash resulted in a large fuel spill. The tanker was carrying about 11,500 gallons of gasoline.

State police say the truck was coming on the Cape over the Bourne Bridge when it ended up in the middle of the rotary, where it crashed and rolled onto its side.

The truck’s driver, a 47 year old Westport man, suffered minor injuries after he was briefly trapped in the cab of the vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital.
