HYANNIS – An excavator reportedly fell into a ditch in Hyannis sometime after 3 PM. The incident happened at the Sav-On at 326 West Main Street. A tank removal project was reportedly underway when the excavator ended up on its side in the hole. The operator was able to get out and was not injured. Firefighters had to mitigate a fuel leak from the excavator. The incident is under investigation.
