PROVINCETOWN – A major history buff and longtime information-education technology adviser was recently hired for the director position at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum.
K. David Weidner, co-founder and president of Capital City Technical Consulting Inc., has 26 years of experience advising healthcare and education businesses.
His resume also lists teaching, administration, and project managing experience. On top of his qualifications, he is also a major early American history buff, according to board of trustees president Chris Snow.
“Not only did he express enthusiasm and energy, he made some observations from a very short walk through our institution that set him apart from any other candidate we’ve ever had for the position,” Snow said.
The leadership change comes at a critical point in the organization’s history with the impending Mayflower anniversary celebration in 2020.
Weidner replaces John McDonagh, who left in September to take a different job in Fall River.
He has vacationed in Provincetown with his spouse for many years. According to Snow, the two have owned a condominium in town since 2014.
