Description
The Bass River Lighthouse, built in 1855, forms the center section of the Main House of Lighthouse Inn. Now called the West Dennis Light, it is the only privately owned working lighthouse in the country. The Lighthouse Inn has been owned and operated by the Stone Family since 1938.
Picturesquely situated along the shore of Nantucket Sound, Lighthouse Inn provides complete seclusion and relaxation with the convenience of a location central to all points of interest on beautiful Cape Cod. A country inn complex on nine oceanfront acres, Lighthouse Inn offers a private sandy beach, heated swimming pool, tennis, shuffleboard, volleyball and basketball.
A supervised children’s activity program is available every day in July and August. Children three years and older enjoy exploring the salt marsh, beach combing, arts and crafts, sand castle building, lawn games and more. The entire family will enjoy the nightly interactive entertainment including a juggler, magician, creative movement, bingo, classic movies, campfire guitar musician and s’mores!
Accommodations are offered in one- two- and three- bedroom cottages, family suites and guest rooms. All accommodations have full bath, cable TV, small refrigerator and air conditioning. Meals are served just feet from the water’s edge outside on the oceanfront deck or inside in the breeze-swept dining room of the Main House with panoramic ocean views.
