9/2/10: Cape Cod has been placed under a Hurricane Warning. You should take steps to prepare for the possible effects of the storm.
Regardless of the storm's path we can expect at minimum tropical storm winds and heavy rain. It is possible that the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges may close at the peak of the storm if sustained winds reach 70 mph. It is also possible that the Cape Cod Emergency Traffic Plan may be utilized.

Hurricane Season began June 1st and runs through November 30th. Weather experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association say that the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season calls for a 70 percent probability of the following ranges:
* 14 to 23 Named Storms (top winds of 39 mph or higher), including:
* 8 to 14 Hurricanes (top winds of 74 mph or higher), of which:
* 3 to 7 could be Major Hurricanes (Category 3, 4 or 5; winds of at least 111 mph)
